Toronto!!

February 8, 2010
I was visiting a friend in Toronto this weekend when I observed something that really bothered me. Actually, two things.
The first occurred when my friend and I went into a grocery store to pick up some things. Near the doors there was a man, a beggar. He was fairly clean, fully clothed, and had a beautiful dog on a leash. This dog was young, healthy, not skinny. A really nice looking dog. And the guy himself didn't really look that bad. A little rough, "sketchy" maybe, but not the stereotypical homeless type. And yet there he was, with a paper cup stationed right outside the Sobeys.  If he was posing as a homeless person, as I'm sure some people actually do, then he was doing a terrible job of it. His dog was so well fed looking, cared for! The man himself was in perfect condition! I could not for the life of me understand this person's state of mind, to be begging for change outside of a grocery store with a nice big dog. Seriously?! Get a job! If you can't feed yourself, why on earth do you have a pet!?
I felt really bad for the dog, you see.

The second thing, which was very amusing and slightly sad, was that I must have seen a hundred people RUN for the subway when they saw or heard it coming in and they weren't on the platform yet. The subway was coming every 3 minutes in these particular stations. These people were booking it like the zombies from Dawn of the Dead. It was like the end of the world, God forbid you have to wait 3 minutes for a subway! You could see the panic in their eyes!
Life in the big city is such a hectic thing. I don't know how some people do it!
I love Toronto and have a great time whenever I go - I just don't see the point of freaking out over a few minutes of "lost time."

Think about if you missed the subway, and while waiting you met the love of your life? Not exactly likely, but something to ponder. :)

Apple iPad

February 4, 2010
So we all know that recently Apple released their newest product, a tablet called the iPad
Steve jobs claimed that with this tablet, Apple was filling the gap between Smartphones and Laptops.
He talked about how other companies have tried to fill this gap with netbooks, and how it's not really working.

But the way I see it, is there even a gap to fill?

If you have an iPhone or an iPod, you don't even need this thing! It looks like a bigger version of an iPod touch!
What do you need a bigger, c...
